Wedding of Robert and Gladys Bell (nee Booth) Spring 1928

An interesting wedding took place in St. Albans Church, Wickersley, on Wednesday, when Mr. Robert Bell, third son of Mrs. Fanny and the late Mr. Thomas Bell, of Thurcroft, was married to Miss Gladys Emma Booth, third daughter of Mrs. Lillian Gertrude and Mr. Frederick Booth, of Wickersley. Mr. Henry Bell (brother of the bridegroom) acted as best man, and the bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of ivory georgette, trimmed with Haxiton lace and pearls. She also wore a net silk veil with a coronet of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white roses.

Miss Kathleen (Kitty) Booth (sister of the bride) and Miss Daisy Kennen (cousin of the bride) were the bridesmaids. They were both attired in dresses of shell pink georgette, with silver lace, and carried bouquets of sweet peas.

The Rev. W. Paskin (Priest-in-charge of Thurcroft) officiated at the ceremony, and the organist was Mrs. R. Wildes.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Church Room, Thurcroft, where upwards of 100 guests were entertained.

The couple received many presents, among which were the following:
