R. W. Moult

William Moult purchased an Estate at Milton in the parish of Chapel le- Frith, which descended to R. W. Moult of Wickersley about the year 1604.

A volume relating principally to East Riding families, but with some useful notices of West Riding families ; compiled about the year 1595, by some unknown, but judicious hand, was transcribed by Joseph Hunter from a MS. then belonging to the late Robert Wylde Moult, Esq., of Wickersley.

Source: Familie Minorum Gentium, Joseph Hunter says: All the members of this family of Moult who have been my contemporaries I have personally known. The account of the earlier descents I received from my late friend Mr Rob Wylde Moult of Wickersley.
Luke Wilson, by his will 1 Sept. 1713, was a benefactor to Holmfirth. He names in it a Grandson, Luke Wilson.

 

Samuel Moult m. BRIDGET WYLD 16 NOV 1747 Wickersley

R. W. Moult was Uncle to Miss Mary Aldred,(later wife of T.Warwick, M.D. of Rotherham) and John Aldred. He died unmarried on 5th January, 1810, aged 61 and was buried at Wickersley.

Sarah Moult, sister of Robert Wylde married Josiah Townsend (d.1819) of Rotherham, Fairford & Elland on 03 AUG 1779 at Wickersley
