In February 1770 Samuel Roper of Bramley, yeoman paid £63 to William Carnley of Wickersley, farmer for a parcel of land of 6 acres 2 roods 15 poles being part of Bramley Lings, adjoining northward the turnpike road from Wickersley to Maltby and southward a piece of land alloted to John Charlton.
In 1771, Rev. Edward Mason of Blyth, clerk, paid £200 to William Carnley and Martha his wife for a parcel of land at Bramley Lings, for a close belonging to Widow Brook and a common. The same year Edward Mason, clerk, paid £60 to William Carnley and his wife for 6 acres of land, 6 acres of meadow, 6 acres of pasture in Bramley.
