Alfred Ernest Copley was the son of Mary Copley (b1830) of Leeds. He was born in Kimberworth in 1859. In 1881 he was an accountant, unmarried and living at 30 Mansfield Road, Rotherham with his mother a widow his brothers, George Harold, Albert William, William Pollard and sister Mary Evelyn .
Caroline was in 1891, housekeeper for her uncle John M Downes, a Grocer And Farmer.
Mary Ann later married John Lister WADSWORTH, farmer. Children born Wickersley:
In 1881 Florence and Caroline were living in Wickersley with their grandfather, John Middleton Downes, a widower, age 69.
In 1905 and 1911 directories, George Beevers was a Quarry Owners and Grindstone Manufacturers at Silverwood. On the 1st image below, the proprietor of Silverwood and Ravenfield Quarry was Joseph Ellis & Sons Bramley, Rotherham. Joseph Ellis married Ann Beevers. The 2nd image, now known as Silverwood Quarry, proprietor G. Lister Beevers.
George Lister Beevers was the owner of Elton House, Bramley (now the Elton Hotel). He married Jane Sophia Ellis (nee Belton). Mr G L Beevers sold the property by auction in 1925.
George and Jane had a son Lister Beevers (23 May 1907 - 19 Sept 1984) who married Freda Nelly (18 Nov 1904 - 15 March 1972). They were buried at Cheltenham Cemetery & Garden of Remembrance
