DEATH OF MRS. A. E. CHAPMAN
The sad intelligence was received at Quarndon last week of the death on Wednesday, at The Croft, St. Albans, of Mrs. Chapman, wife of the Rev, A. E. Chapman, curate of St. Peter's, St. Albans, and the news caused wide-spread sorrow and regret both in the place and neighbourhood. The deceased lady, as Miss Beatrice Cox, was well-known to all classes in the village, and during her residence there was as indefatigable and enthusiastic Church worker. She was married on August 8 of last year in Quarndon Church to the above named gentleman (then the curate of All Saint's, Derby), for whom great sympathy will be felt. The deceased, who was the only daughter of the late Rev. John Cox, vicar of Wickersley, leaves an infant daughter.
