WICKERSLEY COMFORTS FUND
The fund was started at the outbreak of war. During the 5 years, £2,319 1s. 9d. has been received into the fund. Money gifts to members of HM. Forces were £1,800, besides other gifts in the form of Comforts, £210 has been sent from the Fund to the British Red Cross for Prisoners of War.

 

There were approximately 300 names on the Comforts Fund Chairman: Rev. H. Lee, Secretary: The late Mr. F. C. Moss, J.P., then Councillor G. W. Grooby, Treasurer: Mrs. D. Moss, J.P., Headquarters: The Rectory, and Registered under the War Charities Act.
