The Street Groups were started in 1942 by Mrs. Peck who was then Leader of the W.V.S., later Mrs. Jenkins took over and in 1943 Mrs. Kettle was made War Savings Secretary of the Street Group which were:
Each year brought its big Savings Campaigns which were:

ROSEMARY ROAD
The ladies in this road have done wonderful work during the war raising money for Charities. The Comforts Fund, Prisoners of War, Russian Red Cross, and all the Savings weeks have benefited. Hundreds of pounds have been raised through ladies giving Whist Drives in their own homes, providing their own prizes and refreshments. The 29 serving members of this road have each received £1 3s. 6d. from the funds.
